Web Design for Beginners: Build 6 Websites with HTML, CSS & JavaScript

This 16-class course teaches young learners how to design and build real websites from the ground up. Starting with HTML to structure content and CSS to control visuals, students quickly see results in the browser and learn how pages are organized. Once comfortable with layout and styling, the class adds JavaScript for interactivity: welcome popups, clickable buttons, a timed click game, and simple form handling. Throughout the course students complete six polished projects, including a personal “About Me” portfolio, a multi-page school website (Home, About, Contact), a photo gallery or quiz page, a mini-game that tracks score, and a final custom site they plan and build themselves. Lessons include navigation bars, CSS animations, responsive layout basics, form inputs, event handling, and debugging strategies. Teaching is hands-on: each class has a clear demonstration, time to follow along and personalize code, and short creative challenges to reinforce learning. The last session focuses on final touches, debugging, and a showcase where students share their sites. The course is designed for beginners in grades 5–7 and emphasizes confidence-building, problem solving, and creative design. Students leave with six finished websites they can continue to improve and share online.
