Frequently Asked Questions

Everything parents ask before their child's first live class — answered clearly, no fine print.

A workshop usually focuses on one project or skill over one or a few sessions. A bootcamp runs over more sessions and drills a skill, such as multiplication facts or acting basics, until it sticks.

They span math and reading skills, writing, coding and 3D animation, acting and public speaking, art and sewing, history and entrepreneurship. Use the subject filter to find your child's area.

Most run for a single session up to a few weeks, with sessions from about 15 to 90 minutes. The class page shows the number of sessions and the length of each.

Check the experience level and any prerequisites on the class page before you enroll. If you are unsure, try the first class or message the teacher about your child's level.

A bootcamp is a good way to build one skill fast or test an interest without a long commitment. For steady progress over a term, a multi-week course or weekly club may fit better.

Many workshops end with a finished piece, such as a short film, a story, an app or a performance, and the class page says what your child will make. Skill bootcamps focus on fluency rather than a product.

Read the class goal together, set up supplies and test the tech the day before, and keep the schedule clear. After each session, ask your child to show or explain one thing they learned.Read the guide: How to Help Your Child Get the Most from a Workshop or Bootcamp

Plan a few short reviews spread over the following weeks, and have your child recall the skill before checking notes. Giving the skill a real use, like a project or performance, helps it stick.Read the guide: How to Keep New Skills from Fading After a Short Class

Parents create every learner account, messages stay on Undoschool, and every class is recorded for safety. Recordings are seen only by the learner, the teacher and the Undoschool team, and each course is reviewed before it goes live.

Yes. Your first class is on us, so your child can meet the teacher and see the class style first. If it is not right, cancel before the second class starts for a full refund.

Both are marketplaces of live small-group classes run by independent teachers. On Undoschool every course is reviewed before it is listed, every class is recorded for safety, and your first class is on us. Compare the teacher and schedule for the specific class you want.

Message the teacher from your dashboard. Because sessions are recorded, the teacher can usually help your child catch up on what was covered.

A laptop, desktop or tablet with a camera and microphone, a steady internet connection, and a quiet spot. The class page lists any software or supplies the teacher needs.Read the guide: Getting Ready for Your Child's First Online Class
