Frequently Asked Questions

Everything parents ask before their child's first live class — answered clearly, no fine print.

It depends on the class: character drawings, comic pages, posters and logos, fashion sketches, pixel art or a small digital portfolio. Each class page lists the project your child finishes with.

Most drawing classes only need paper, pencils and markers. Digital classes name the tool they use, such as Procreate on an iPad or Canva in a browser, so check the class page before you enroll.

Most classes here are marked for beginners and teach drawing step by step from simple shapes. Teachers expect a mix of levels, so look for the Beginner tag and pick one that matches your child's age.

Classes run from about age 3 to 18. Younger kids usually do guided drawing of favorite characters and animals, while teens take on graphic design, fashion illustration and portfolio work.

Many classes start with popular characters because kids love them, then teach the shapes and skills behind them. Character design and comic classes push kids to create original heroes and worlds.

Kids usually hold their work up to the camera to share with the class, and only the class sees it. Nothing is posted publicly, and your child can skip sharing if they prefer.

Canva and Adobe Express work well for posters and cards, and Krita is a free drawing program. Check each tool's age rules first, since both Canva and Adobe expect under-13s to use a school account.Read the guide: Free Graphic Design Tools for Kids and How to Set Them Up Safely

Start with one character and a four-to-six panel story. Plan it with quick stick-figure sketches, then pencil, add words and ink the final page with a black pen.Read the guide: How to Help Your Child Make Their First Comic

Parents create every learner account, messages stay on Undoschool, and every class is recorded for safety. Recordings are seen only by the learner, the teacher and the Undoschool team, and each course is reviewed before it goes live.

Yes. Your first class is on us, so your child can meet the teacher and see the class style first. If it is not right, cancel before the second class starts for a full refund.

Both are marketplaces of live small-group classes run by independent teachers. On Undoschool every course is reviewed before it is listed, every class is recorded for safety, and your first class is on us. Compare the teacher and schedule for the specific class you want.

Message the teacher from your dashboard. Because sessions are recorded, the teacher can usually help your child catch up on what was covered.

A laptop, desktop or tablet with a camera and microphone, a steady internet connection, and a quiet spot. The class page lists any software or supplies the teacher needs.Read the guide: Getting Ready for Your Child's First Online Class
