This project-based course guides grade 4 and 5 students through the process of creating short animated films using AI-assisted tools. Over eight sessions, learners will explore how AI generates characters, backgrounds, and voices, then combine those elements into a cohesive, edited animation. Each class follows a consistent structure to maximize learning and creativity: a brief warm-up, a lesson and live demo of AI techniques, a hands-on project time, peer sharing with feedback, and a short wrap-up with a preview of the next session. Students receive step-by-step guidance while working on their individual film projects and are encouraged to experiment with style and storytelling. Instruction is interactive and age-appropriate, with real-time support during activities and opportunities to give and receive constructive feedback. The course culminates in a student film festival where learners showcase their completed animations to peers and families. No prior experience is required; the focus is on practical skills in digital storytelling, basic animation workflows, voice syncing, scene composition, and simple editing using AI features. The class emphasizes creativity, iterative improvement, and clear communication of story ideas, preparing young creators to plan, produce, and present short AI-assisted animated films.
