Make Gaming Videos: Record and Edit Fortnite Highlights

Many gamers want to make videos like their favorite creators. In this four-day camp learners plan, record and edit a short highlight video from their own gameplay, using free editing tools.

Each day covers one stage: planning and scripting, recording clean footage, editing with cuts and captions, and adding voice-over and thumbnails. Online safety and kind commenting are built in, and learners finish camp with a finished video to share with family.

How classes work

Camp meets on back-to-back days. Each day builds on the last, mixing short demos, hands-on work and time to share progress, so learners finish the week with a complete project.

What we'll cover

• Day 1: Plan Your Highlight – Choose a video idea, write a short script and storyboard the key moments.

• Day 2: Record Clean Footage – Capture gameplay clips and organize files ready for editing.

• Day 3: Edit Like a Creator – Cut clips, add captions, transitions and royalty-free music.

• Day 4: Voice-Over and Thumbnails – Record narration, design a thumbnail and review online safety before sharing.

No experience needed. Learners need a device with a camera and microphone for live classes.
