Frequently Asked Questions

Everything parents ask before their child's first live class — answered clearly, no fine print.

Classes cover acting and improv, monologues and scene work, voice acting, musical theater, playwriting and spoken word, and dance styles like ballet, hip hop and Latin. Filter by topic to see just the area your child is curious about.

Yes, for most core skills. Teachers coach voice, expression, character choices and memorization live, and kids perform for each other on camera. On-camera and voice acting classes suit the format especially well.

Beginner classes usually start with group games where everyone performs together, and solo moments build up gradually. Use the Special filter to find classes marked for shy and anxious learners, and mention it to the teacher.

There are playful drama, puppet and dance classes from age 4, beginner acting from about age 6, and audition, on-camera and advanced musical theater coaching for teens. Use the Age filter to see what fits.

Most classes need only a clear spot where your child can stand and move a little in view of the camera. Dance classes need a bit more floor space, and the class page lists any scripts or supplies.

Many classes practice exactly that: monologues, cold reading, and audition routines. Look for courses with auditions or monologues in the title, or 1-on-1 coaching if a specific audition is coming up.

Read the audition notice together, choose a short piece that fits their age, and practice a little each day for about two weeks, including how they walk in and introduce themselves.Read the guide: How to Help Your Child Prepare for a School Play Audition

Try mirror, freeze frame, emotion walk and "yes, and" stories. They need no props, take about ten minutes, and build listening, imagination and confidence.Read the guide: Easy Drama Games to Play with Kids at Home

Parents create every learner account, messages stay on Undoschool, and every class is recorded for safety. Recordings are seen only by the learner, the teacher and the Undoschool team, and each course is reviewed before it goes live.

Yes. Your first class is on us, so your child can meet the teacher and see the class style first. If it is not right, cancel before the second class starts for a full refund.

Both are marketplaces of live small-group classes run by independent teachers. On Undoschool every course is reviewed before it is listed, every class is recorded for safety, and your first class is on us. Compare the teacher and schedule for the specific class you want.

Message the teacher from your dashboard. Because sessions are recorded, the teacher can usually help your child catch up on what was covered.

A laptop, desktop or tablet with a camera and microphone, a steady internet connection, and a quiet spot. The class page lists any software or supplies the teacher needs.Read the guide: Getting Ready for Your Child's First Online Class
