This weekly club teaches 3D design and engineering thinking using Tinkercad, a beginner-friendly web-based CAD tool. Students start with core Tinkercad tools and navigation, then progress through hands-on space- and sci-fi-themed projects that reinforce structure, symmetry, scaling, and real-world design constraints. Each session centers on guided building: simple name badges and basic shapes, then multi-part rockets, rover chassis and systems, dockable station modules, vehicle and drone concepts, alien base architecture, and environmental structures. Learners practice alignment, repetition, balance, and component assembly while developing problem-solving and iterative design skills. No prior 3D design experience is required. Projects are imagination-driven but anchored in engineering concepts. All work happens digitally in class; families may choose to 3D print designs outside of class. The club culminates in an independent final project phase followed by a showcase where learners present their designs and explain their design choices. This course suits ages 8-12 (Grades 4-7) who want hands-on practice with Tinkercad and a clear progression from basic tools to original, multi-part creations in a space or sci-fi theme.

Paid once.
Students meet weekly for instructor-led sessions that combine short demos, step-by-step guided builds, and independent practice. Instructors give feedback, suggest refinements, and introduce engineering concepts as projects get more complex. The final weeks focus on an independent project and a showcase presentation.
Use Tinkercad tools to create, modify, and assemble 3D models
Apply engineering concepts like symmetry, balance, scaling, and structural support
Develop iterative problem-solving and design-thinking skills
Plan and complete an original multi-part space or sci-fi 3D project
No prior 3D design experience required. Comfortable using a computer and following step-by-step visual instructions.
