Class Experience

This course examines the Neo-Assyrian Empire’s political history, imperial ideology, and visual culture through archaeology, art, architecture, and translated textual sources. Lessons combine lectures and slide presentations with class dialogue to analyze monuments, reliefs, temples, and the role of religion and propaganda in Assyrian statecraft.
