Grade 6 Math Full Curriculum (CCSS)

This ongoing, twice-weekly club follows a complete Grade 6 math curriculum aligned to common standards. Learners develop procedural skills and conceptual understanding through models, worked examples, class discussion, and guided problem solving. Units include ratios, rates, and percents; fraction and decimal operations; factors and multiples; signed numbers and four-quadrant coordinates; algebraic expressions, one-step equations, and inequalities; geometry of area, volume, and surface area; and statistics and data displays. Instruction mixes direct teaching with practice, error analysis, and problem-solving workshops. Regular quizzes and cumulative reviews track progress and reinforce fluency. Toward the end of the course, students complete exam-style practice and an end-of-year assessment to identify gaps and prepare for Grade 7 topics. The course emphasizes clear reasoning, strategy selection, and explaining solutions with models, diagrams, and equations.
