Wand Geometry: Design a Wand with Math

Designing a wand takes more math than you might think. In this course learners measure lengths, explore angles and shapes and use scale drawings to plan a wand that is perfectly balanced and beautifully decorated.

Each week builds one geometry skill and applies it to the design, and the course ends with a finished wand and a technical drawing that shows all the measurements.

How classes work

Each week starts with a short live demo of the new idea, followed by guided practice while the teacher checks in with every learner. Classes end with a small challenge to try before next time.

What we'll cover

• Week 1: Measuring Wands – Measure and compare wand lengths in inches and centimeters.

• Week 2: Angles and Patterns – Use angles to design spiral and geometric handle patterns.

• Week 3: Scale Drawings – Make an accurate scale drawing of your wand design.

• Week 4: Build and Present – Build the wand from the plan and present the design to the class.

No experience needed. Learners need a device with a camera and microphone for live classes.
