Class Experience

Great cosplay props start with great planning. Teens choose a fantasy prop such as a staff, wand, shield or dragon egg and plan it carefully with measurements, scale drawings and a materials budget.

Week by week they turn plans into a finished prop using safe materials like craft foam and cardboard, learning practical design, geometry and building skills along the way.

How classes work

Each week starts with a short live demo of the new idea, followed by guided practice while the teacher checks in with every learner. Classes end with a small challenge to try before next time.

What we'll cover

  • Week 1: Choose and Sketch – Pick a prop, gather reference images and sketch several ideas.

  • Week 2: Scale Drawings – Draw the prop to scale with front and side views and measurements.

  • Week 3: Materials and Budget – Estimate how much foam, glue and paint you need and what it will cost.

  • Week 4: Cut and Build – Cut and assemble the main shape using templates from your plan.

  • Week 5: Details and Paint – Add details, seal the surface and paint with highlights and shadows.

  • Week 6: Showcase – Present the finished prop alongside your plans and lessons learned.
