This 12-class course strengthens core Grade 5 number sense and operations skills through clear modeling, visual tools, and practice. The course begins with place value concepts from millions to thousandths and how powers of 10 change digit value. Students read, write, compare and order decimals, then practice rounding decimals using number lines and place value reasoning. Multiplication units focus on efficient place value strategies, area models, partial products, and the standard algorithm to build fluency with multi-digit problems. Division lessons use place value reasoning, area models and partial quotients before applying standard methods for dividing by two-digit divisors. Throughout, learners apply skills to real-world, multi-step whole-number problems and practice interpreting answers in context. Students also learn to write, interpret and evaluate numerical expressions using grouping symbols and the correct order of operations. A module on numerical patterns helps learners generate sequences, identify rules, compare relationships and graph ordered pairs. Each class includes guided examples, visual models, practice problems and opportunities for mathematical reasoning. The final class reviews major skills from the course to reinforce connections and prepare learners for continued work in Grade 5 math.

Twelve classes focus on modeling, guided practice, visual representations (place value charts, area models, number lines) and application problems. Lessons build skill with teacher-led examples, independent practice and review. The final class consolidates key concepts and strategies from the course.
