This 16-class 7th grade math course develops foundational skills in ratios, proportional relationships, percent applications, integers, and rational-number operations. The course begins with ratios and unit rates, then moves to equivalent ratios, constants of proportionality, and graphing proportional relationships on coordinate planes. Students apply proportional reasoning to solve percent problems and multi-step real-world scenarios, including discounts, markups, tax, tips, and percent increase or decrease. In the second half of the course learners focus on integers and rational numbers. They represent, compare, and order integers and rational numbers on number lines, then practice adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing integers, fractions, and decimals. Lessons include use of efficient strategies, evaluating expressions using the order of operations, and interpreting absolute value and distance. Throughout, instruction uses guided examples, visual representations, practice problems, and mathematical reasoning activities to build fluency and conceptual understanding. The final class is a comprehensive review that reinforces major concepts and prepares learners to apply these skills to multi-step, real-world problems.

Sixteen structured classes combine teacher-guided examples, visual models, and practice problems. Lessons progress from ratios and proportional reasoning to percent applications, then to integer and rational-number operations. Activities include real-world problem solving and a final comprehensive review.
Identify and analyze ratios, unit rates, proportional relationships, and constants of proportionality
Use tables, graphs, and equations to represent and solve proportional relationships
Solve percent problems including finding part/whole/percent, discounts, markups, tax, tips, and percent change
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide integers and rational numbers accurately
Apply order of operations, absolute value, and rational-number operations to multi-step real-world problems
