1-on-1 Math Tutoring: Catch Up on Fractions

Fractions are where many kids start to feel lost in math. This private course starts with a friendly check-in to find the gaps, then rebuilds understanding step by step with visual models.

Kids move from understanding what a fraction means to comparing, adding, subtracting and connecting fractions to decimals, finishing with real-world word problems. Confidence grows quickly with one-on-one attention.

How classes work

Every session is private and paced to the learner. The teacher starts by checking where the learner is, adjusts the plan to their goals and gives detailed feedback in every class.

• Session 1: Fraction Check-In – Find gaps with a relaxed check-in and set goals.

• Session 2: Fraction Models – Use pictures, number lines and pizzas to show fractions.

• Session 3: Equivalent Fractions – Find equivalent fractions by multiplying and dividing.

• Session 4: Comparing Fractions – Compare and order fractions using common denominators.

• Session 5: Adding Fractions – Add fractions with like and unlike denominators.

• Session 6: Subtracting Fractions – Subtract fractions and mixed numbers step by step.

• Session 7: Decimals – Connect fractions to decimals and place value.

• Session 8: Word Problems – Solve real-world fraction word problems with confidence.

No experience needed. Learners need a device with a camera and microphone for live classes.
