Roblox Fractions Adventure: Build a Fraction Quest Game

Fractions can feel abstract until you can see and build them. In this eight-week course learners in grades 3 to 5 explore fractions hands-on and design a fraction quest game where every level teaches a new skill.

Learners start by building fraction bars and pizza-style circles from Roblox parts, splitting wholes into halves, thirds, fourths and eighths. They then explore equivalent fractions by lining up bars and discovering that two fourths covers the same space as one half. Next they compare fractions with the same numerator or denominator and place fractions on a number line bridge.

In the second half of the course learners add and subtract fractions with like denominators and explore mixed numbers using stacked blocks. Each week learners turn the new skill into a level of their quest game. For example, players might cross only the bridge tiles that equal one half, or open a door by choosing the larger fraction. Simple provided scripts handle doors and checkpoints so learners can focus on math design.

The teacher explains each concept with clear visuals and checks understanding with short practice problems after each class. In the final week learners swap games with classmates and solve each other's fraction quests.

By the end learners will understand and use fractions confidently and have a math game they designed themselves. No coding experience is required.
