Grades 4-6 Math: Full 32-Week Curriculum

This 32-week course helps students in Grades 4-6 build deep, flexible math understanding through playful problem solving, visual models, and real-world projects. Lessons progress from number sense and core operations into fractions, decimals, measurement, geometry, data, probability, and introductory algebra. Instruction blends short skill lessons, hands-on activities, logic puzzles, interactive visuals, and periodic review weeks so concepts are revisited and reinforced. Early weeks focus on place value, addition and subtraction strategies, multi-digit multiplication, division approaches, factors and multiples, patterns, and order of operations. The curriculum then develops a strong conceptual foundation for fractions and decimals—comparing, converting, and performing operations with visual models. Measurement units cover length, time, weight, and capacity with practical problems and estimation strategies. Geometry units explore 2D shapes, angles, symmetry, area, perimeter, and coordinate grids with design tasks that apply measurement and spatial reasoning. Data and probability topics include reading and creating bar, line, and pie graphs, surveys, and simple probability experiments. Students are introduced to variables and simple equations and practice multi-step word problems and logical reasoning. Throughout the year learners apply math to maps, recipes, budgets, and design challenges, culminating in a student-selected project and a final showcase. Regular review weeks and game-based assessments help consolidate skills and build confidence across domains.
