Singapore Dimensions Math 3A Grade 3: Numbers, Fractions & Multiplication

This Grade 3 Singapore Dimensions Math 3A course follows the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) progression to develop deep understanding of core elementary math. Across 30 lessons, students build number sense to 10,000 and work with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using hands-on models, pictorial representations and abstract algorithms. The course emphasizes visual reasoning and structured problem solving with bar models, helping children translate word problems into clear mathematical plans. Topics include place value and number forms, comparing and ordering numbers, odd/even and patterns; multi-digit addition and subtraction with regrouping; multiplication and division concepts, tables and multi-digit computation; mental strategies for quick calculations; fractions (part-whole, equivalence, simplifying, and adding/subtracting like denominators); measurement (length, mass, volume), metric conversions, time and elapsed time; practical money problems; area and perimeter of rectangles and squares; basic geometry (lines and angles); and collecting and interpreting data with bar graphs. Lessons use manipulatives such as base-10 blocks, fraction models, number lines and measuring tools.
