This course supports the transition from Year 2 into Year 3 math by strengthening core knowledge, fluency, and reasoning. Lessons review foundational skills while introducing flexible thinking and clear mathematical communication. Students practise explaining their ideas, spotting patterns, and using effective strategies to solve one- and two-step problems. Topics follow a planned progression that mirrors classroom expectations: place value to 100 (tens and ones); addition and subtraction across tens and formal two-digit methods; mental calculation strategies; an introduction to multiplication (groups of 2, 5, 10) and division as sharing/grouping; fractions including unit fractions, equivalence and number-line work; measurement of length, mass, and capacity; telling time to quarter past and quarter to; handling money and giving change; properties of 2D and 3D shapes; simple statistics with pictograms and tables; basic position and direction; perimeter introduction; and continued practice of multiplication facts and fraction-of-quantity problems. Each session combines focused review, guided practice, problem-solving tasks, and group or partner discussion to build confidence and accuracy. Regular mixed-practice and consolidation sessions prepare learners for Year 3 expectations and help teachers and parents identify next steps for continued progress.

Paid once.
Each session provides a short review, guided practice on new or tricky skills, structured problem-solving tasks, and opportunities to explain reasoning. Activities include worked examples, hands-on counting or measuring, and mixed-practice checks to build fluency and confidence.
