Tour the USA: State Geography with a Virtual Step Challenge

Students log real-life distance to virtually visit U.S. states across the course while learning geography, state regions, capitals, and regional features. Each week covers about four states; live classes include state lessons and trivia games. The program blends physical activity tracking with knowledge-based state study and periodic reviews.

Materials needed:

While it is not required, it is recommended that students have pedometers to help them track daily activities. A chart will be provided that converts other activities into steps as well as mileage for students.

Students will also need either a sheet of paper or small blank cards and writing utensils (pencils, crayons, markers, etc...) to create postcards (or written letters) to friends and family about their travels.
