Reading Comprehension Strategies: Step-by-Step Practice

An 8-week course that builds reading confidence using research-based strategies like making connections, visualizing, questioning, finding main ideas, making inferences, synthesizing, and fix-up strategies. Each lesson includes a short teacher demonstration, leveled passages (two levels), guided comprehension questions, optional extension practice, and teacher feedback; audio read-aloud versions are provided.

Materials needed:

Students will be provided with all reading passages, each offering an optional read-aloud audio. For extra practice, they can use additional passages from the teacher or select their own reading material each week. All assignments are completed digitally in Google Slides for easy access and flexibility.
