For many children with dyslexia, reading in front of a class can feel stressful. This winter break program offers six private 45-minute sessions where your child can practice reading with one patient teacher, at their own pace and without an audience.
The sessions follow a structured, multisensory approach. Learners see, say, hear and touch sounds using letter tiles, tapping, tracing and color coding, so new patterns stick. After a relaxed first check-in, the teacher works through key phonics patterns, blending and splitting longer words into syllables, high-frequency words and repeated reading of short passages to build smooth, confident reading. Each session also includes comprehension practice with pictures, questions and retelling.
Every session is planned around your child's current level, and the teacher adjusts the pace from one session to the next. Reading passages use a dyslexia-friendly font and layout, and children choose winter stories that interest them. Shy readers can start by reading along with the teacher before reading on their own.
After two weeks, families receive notes on the patterns practiced, progress seen and a simple home reading routine for the new term. This program supports reading skills; it is not a diagnostic assessment or a replacement for a specialist intervention plan.
Each 45-minute session includes a sound warm-up, multisensory phonics practice, a short reading passage and a comprehension chat. Sessions are booked 1-on-1 with the teacher, three times a week for two weeks.

Structured, multisensory lessons with dyslexia-friendly materials and private, unhurried practice let shy readers build skills without reading in front of a group.
Learners should know most letter names and sounds. No formal diagnosis is required; families are welcome to share any reading notes from school.
Printed letter tiles or index cards (template shared before Session 1); pencil; 3 colored markers; printed reading passages shared by the teacher; a small tray of sand or salt for tracing (optional).
