1-on-1 Language and Writing Coaching for Neurodiverse Ages 8-12

This 1-on-1, multisensory coaching class supports neurodiverse learners ages 8–12, including children with ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Speech/Language Delays, or Auditory Processing Disorder (APD). Lessons are personalized to each child’s pace and communication goals and use visual cues, movement, sound, and hands-on activities to strengthen both receptive (listening/comprehension) and expressive (speaking/writing) language. Sessions run for 30 minutes and feature scaffolded, student-centered activities such as guided writing and sentence building, listening and memory games, phonics and word-shape matching, color-coded grammar tools, and personal storytelling prompts. The instructor incorporates frequent movement breaks, positive reinforcement, and clear visual supports to reduce frustration and keep skills accessible. Work focuses on practical classroom and everyday communication needs: organizing thoughts into sentences and short paragraphs, improving listening accuracy and auditory memory, practicing phonics and spelling strategies, and developing personal narratives for clearer self-expression. Activities are interactive and adaptable — for example, a writing prompt may combine picture supports, color-coded sentence strips, and one-step editing practice to make progress manageable and visible. This class aims to support academic tasks and social communication by building skill, confidence, and strategies that transfer to schoolwork, conversation, and emotional expression. Progress is measured by the child’s individual goals and steady skill-building rather than fixed timelines.
