Class Experience
Kids love picture books, and in this course they make one of their own. Each learner chooses a favorite animal, invents a character and plans a simple story with a problem and a happy ending, guided step by step by the teacher.
We look at how real picture books work: big pictures, short sentences and page turns that build excitement. Week by week learners write their pages, add illustrations and design a cover with a title and author name, finishing with a short reading of their book to the class.
How classes work
Each week starts with a short live demo of the new idea, followed by guided practice while the teacher checks in with every learner. Classes end with a small challenge to try before next time.
What we'll cover
Week 1: Meet Your Animal Hero – Choose an animal, give it a name and personality, and decide what problem it will face.
Week 2: Plan the Story – Map the beginning, middle and end on a simple storyboard and decide what goes on each page.
Week 3: Write and Draw the Pages – Write short sentences for each page and add bold illustrations that show the action.
Week 4: Cover, Binding and Book Reading – Design the cover, bind the pages and read the finished picture book to the class.
