Class Experience
This course examines the rise of nationalism and independence movements after WWII, including decolonization, the partition of India, U.S. involvement in the Philippines, democratic movements in Myanmar, Indonesian leadership under Sukarno and Suharto, independence struggles across Africa, the end of South African apartheid, and key political figures in the Americas. Students study causes, events and regional comparisons and complete a course review and assessment.
