This twice-weekly English Language Arts course for Grades 3-4 helps students grow as readers and writers through structured, engaging practice. Over 32 lessons, learners alternate between a reading comprehension and grammar session and a separate writing session. The reading class uses shared reading, group discussion, and targeted questions to build comprehension and vocabulary while teaching grammar in context. Grammar topics include common and proper nouns, concrete and abstract nouns, regular and irregular plurals, possessives, subject and object pronouns, reflexive pronouns, verb forms, and tense consistency. The writing class focuses on creative expression and early essay skills. A recurring character, “Writing Wizard Willy,” introduces prompts and mini-lessons that guide students in using sensory details, showing not telling, organizing ideas, developing voice, writing dialogue, and composing complete stories with beginnings, middles, and ends. Students also practice comics, letters, opinion pieces, and revision strategies. Families can choose between two reading options included in class materials: The Alien Next Door (chapter book with illustrations) or the Cat Ninja comic series. If students prefer a different book, accommodations can be arranged. Classes use interactive grammar games, shared projects, and individual feedback to reinforce skills. The predictable weekly routine helps students build confidence, improve accuracy with nouns, pronouns, and verbs, and develop clearer sentence and paragraph organization while enjoying reading and creative writing.

Paid once.
