Economic Essentials: Introductory Macro and Microeconomics

A 10-week introductory course presenting core macro and microeconomic concepts—scarcity, opportunity cost, supply and demand, economic systems, inflation, unemployment, GDP, trade, national budgeting, and personal finance. The class emphasizes thinking like an economist and analyzing how economic principles affect everyday decisions and public policy.

As an extended and completely optional part of the course- I recommend incorporating the book 'Freakonomics Revised and Expanded Edition' by Steven Levitt, 2020. A few (but not all) of the chapters will be included in the suggested/optional asynchronous activities, to allow learners to explore the economic concepts that we're discussing in unique and interesting ways!
