Class Experience

Students visit a different Canadian province or territory each week to learn geographic locations, capital cities, provincial flags, local landscapes, ecosystems, wildlife, and key natural resources. Classes use mapping and drawing activities and adapt to student interests while building foundational geographic knowledge and map skills.

  • Use maps to locate provinces, territories, major waterbodies, and geographic features.

  • Explain provincial flags and symbols and their meanings.

Materials needed:

Each class there will be a print out a the a map and flag that students can bring to class. They are also welcome to bring colored pencils, a pen or pencil and paper to take notes or draw during class if they like.
