Class Experience
This class uses All About Spelling’s multisensory methods: students build words with colored letter tiles, practice writing and dictation, and use phonogram and review cards to learn rules such as TCH and DGE, multiple spellings of /j/ and Y, prefixes, and homophones. Lessons include direct modeling, guided practice, application in sentences, and periodic assessments and review games.
Learning Outcomes
Explain and apply the TCH and DGE spelling rules.
Identify and use common spellings for the /j/ sound.
Apply syllable division rules when adding prefixes.
Recognize and use the four sounds of Y and the second sound of OR.
