Class Experience
Private lessons let every learner grow at their own pace. In the first session the teacher looks at the learner's drawings, talks about what they love to draw and sets clear goals together.
Each lesson then focuses on one core skill, such as shapes, proportions, shading or perspective, applied to subjects the learner chooses. Over eight weeks learners build a sketchbook that shows real progress, with personal feedback in every class.
How classes work
Every session is private and paced to the learner. The teacher starts by checking where the learner is, adjusts the plan to their goals and gives detailed feedback in every class.
What we'll cover
Session 1: Goals and Warm-Up Sketches – Review the learner's current drawings, agree on goals and warm up with quick, loose gesture sketches.
Session 2: Shapes and Construction – Break favorite subjects into circles, boxes and cylinders, then build them up with light guidelines.
Session 3: Proportion and Measuring – Use pencil sighting and simple measuring tricks to get sizes and distances right.
Session 4: Light and Shading – Make a value scale and shade simple forms so they look solid and three-dimensional.
Session 5: Perspective Basics – Draw boxes, rooms and streets in one- and two-point perspective.
Session 6: Texture and Detail – Add fur, wood, fabric and other textures without losing the big shapes underneath.
Session 7: Personal Project – Plan a finished drawing of the learner's choice with thumbnails and a value plan.
Session 8: Finish and Review – Complete the project, then look back through the sketchbook to celebrate progress and set next goals.
