In this guided, project-based course students use Minecraft Education Edition to explore math, science and engineering concepts through real design challenges. Each session introduces a focused concept, presents a design problem, and gives learners time to build, test and improve solutions. Activities emphasize hands-on measurement and geometry, applying multiplication, division and fractions to real builds, and using symmetry and 3D thinking for architecture and bridges. Students investigate forces, slopes and simple machines through minecart and structure challenges, then study biomes, food chains, pollination and balanced ecosystems. They model the water cycle and design watersheds, build weather stations to represent temperature, wind and rainfall, and engineer structures to resist floods, storms or extreme heat. Coding is limited to one beginner-friendly MakeCode project that supports a conservation or restoration task, keeping the primary focus on STEM problem solving. No prior coding experience is required. Basic familiarity with Minecraft controls is helpful but not essential. The course is teacher-led rather than free-play: instruction, challenges, testing time and iterative improvement are all structured to develop scientific reasoning, measurement skills and an engineering design mindset.

Paid once.
Each class begins with a short lesson on a math, science or engineering concept, followed by a design challenge. Learners plan, build, test and refine their projects in Minecraft Education. Classes are guided and structured, not free-play. One lesson includes a beginner block-coding activity for an environmental task. Instructor provides class access credentials for Minecraft Education Edition.
Apply area, perimeter, measurement, multiplication and fractions to design problems
Use angles, symmetry and 3D shapes to plan geometric builds
Follow an engineering design process to plan, build, test and improve solutions
Describe relationships in habitats, food chains, pollination and plant life cycles
Model the water cycle, common weather measurements and design weather-resistant structures
No prior coding experience required. Basic familiarity with Minecraft controls is helpful but not essential. Recommended for students in Grades 3-4 (ages 7-9).
