This 8-class Minecraft camp guides students through designing and building five interactive multiplayer games: Parkour, Boat Racing, Zombie Survival, Escape Room, and Spleef. Each session combines guided instruction, hands-on building, and playtesting so learners practice core game-design ideas like player flow, challenge balancing, scoring, and fairness. Students will add interactive features using redstone circuits and basic command blocks, design puzzles and traps, and implement spawn and wave mechanics for survival-style gameplay. Classes emphasize iterative design: students plan levels or arenas, build and test with peers, collect feedback, and refine their projects. Instructors lead short demos and explanations, then support students as they build in their own worlds or in the instructor-hosted multiplayer environment. Collaborative problem-solving and clear communication are part of every session, with opportunities to run time trials, host matches, and run a final tournament to showcase completed games. The course is aimed at elementary and middle school players familiar with Minecraft basics or ready to learn them. No formal coding experience is required; students will learn practical redstone and command-block techniques relevant to building playable game systems. The structure balances creative building, technical mechanics, and player-focused testing so learners leave with multiple finished game projects and a stronger sense of how to design fun multiplayer experiences.

Paid once.
Eight live classes: most games get one session for design/build and one for testing and enhancement. Each class mixes short demos, in-game building time, peer playtesting, and instructor feedback. Students may join the instructor multiplayer world to collaborate, or work in their own worlds and share builds for testing.
Design and complete five multiplayer game types in Minecraft
Use redstone and basic command blocks to create interactive game mechanics
Plan and run playtests to improve game flow, fairness, and challenge
Collaborate with peers and give constructive feedback
Implement scoring, timers, and spawn/wave systems for multiplayer play
Students should be comfortable with basic Minecraft controls (moving, placing/breaking blocks). No prior redstone or command-block experience needed. To join the instructor-hosted multiplayer world, students need Minecraft Bedrock edition and a signed-in Microsoft account; otherwise they may participate by sharing builds and screens.
