Unity 3D: Build a First-Person Maze Game

Highly recommend for middle-schoolers who want to learn game development basics. My 11-year-old enjoyed the step-by-step approach to building a playable first-person 3D maze and picked up scripting, UI, audio and player controls in manageable 50-minute weekly lessons across the 10 weeks. The balance of creativity and technical skills was great and it kept them motivated to continue experimenting in Unity after class. This course seemed well matched to the 10–15 age range.

Unity 3D: Build a First-Person Maze Game

Useful introduction to Unity and making a first-person maze, and the topics like UI and audio were interesting. However, with only one 50-minute lesson per week over 10 weeks, progress felt slow for our 13-year-old. I appreciated the fundamentals taught, but expected a faster pace or more hands-on practice.

Unity 3D: Build a First-Person Maze Game

We enrolled our 15-year-old because they wanted to try game building and scripting. The course does a nice job introducing player controls and 3D positioning without being overwhelming. A little more time on advanced scripting would have been perfect, but overall very worthwhile.

Unity 3D: Build a First-Person Maze Game

Solid program for kids 10–15; the lessons cover player controls, UI, and audio in a clear way. I only wish there were more than one 50-minute lesson per week to practice between sessions.
