Roblox Tower Defense Map Workshop: Design Your First Map

Every great tower defense game starts with a great map. In this one-time workshop learners design and build their own tower defense map in Roblox Studio, focusing on the level design ideas that make these games fun.

The session begins with a quick look at what makes a tower defense map interesting, such as winding paths, choke points where enemies bunch together, and open areas that reward clever tower placement. Learners sketch their own map idea on paper, choosing a theme like a jungle temple, a frozen lake or a candy castle.

Next learners build their map in Roblox Studio. They lay out the enemy path with parts or terrain, add decorations that fit their theme, and mark tower spots with glowing pads. The teacher shares tips for keeping paths readable and making the map look polished with color and lighting.

In the final part of class learners take a short tour of each other's maps and explain where they would place their first tower and why. Learners who want to keep going receive simple next steps for adding enemies and towers with code.

No coding is required in this class. Basic Roblox Studio skills such as moving and resizing parts are helpful. Learners leave with a finished map ready for a tower defense game.
