Grade 5 Math: Fractions, Decimals, Geometry and Data

This Grade 5 Full Math Curriculum is a complete, year-long program delivered over 24 structured weeks. Students build fluency with place value and multi-digit operations, then progress through a focused study of fractions, decimals, measurement, geometry, volume, and data. Instruction emphasizes clear explanations, visual models, step-by-step reasoning, and guided practice so learners develop both procedural skills and conceptual understanding. Key topics include place value to the millions and decimals to the thousandths; multi-digit addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; fractions (equivalence, comparison, operations, mixed numbers, and word problems); decimal place value and operations; measurement and unit conversion; area, perimeter, and volume of rectangular prisms; coordinate plane basics; and reading and interpreting line plots and graphs. Classes encourage math discussion so students can explain how and why their solutions work, not just compute answers. This course works as a full Grade 5 math replacement, targeted enrichment, or structured support alongside school learning. Materials are minimal and optional printable worksheets are provided for extra practice. The sequence of 24 lessons builds skills progressively and prepares students for middle school math concepts.
