Grade 4 Math: Full Curriculum

This ongoing, twice-weekly club gives 4th graders steady practice and instruction in the full Grade 4 math curriculum. Lessons are taught in small groups and combine clear explanations, visual models, guided practice, and opportunities for students to explain their thinking. Topics are scheduled across the year with two focused lessons per week, regular reviews, short quizzes, and problem-solving workshops to reinforce learning. Students learn place value and number sense up to 1,000,000, including number forms, comparisons, patterns, rounding, and estimation. Whole-number operations include multi-digit addition and subtraction, multiplication strategies and multi-digit multiplication, division with remainders, and multi-step word problems. The club covers factors and multiples, prime and composite numbers, and number-pattern reasoning. Fraction work includes equivalent fractions, comparing and ordering, addition and subtraction with like denominators, mixed numbers and improper fractions, and multiplying fractions by whole numbers. Decimal topics focus on tenths and hundredths and connecting decimals to fraction representations. Measurement and geometry lessons cover unit conversions, perimeter and area, angles and angle measurement, classification of shapes, and symmetry. Throughout the year students complete skill checks and error-analysis activities, participate in cumulative review sessions, and take an end-of-year assessment with feedback and corrections to prepare for Grade 5 readiness.
