Doodle Art Summer Camp Ages 6-11: Faces, Creatures & Comics

This two-week summer camp helps kids ages 6–11 discover doodle art and cartooning through playful, step-by-step projects. Across eight 55-minute classes, students turn simple lines and shapes into expressive faces, silly foods, hybrid animals, monsters, comics, and calming patterned art. Each session includes a short creative warm-up, a guided drawing project, a themed challenge, and time to share work with kind, constructive feedback. The pace is pressure-free and designed for beginner to intermediate artists, including visual or neurodiverse learners. Students practice using basic shapes to convey emotion, build characters with personality, experiment with humor and action, and plan short comic strips with speech bubbles, inking, and color. Later sessions focus on pattern-making and composing a full-page doodle world that brings together characters, backgrounds, and texture. The camp concludes with a showcase where students present favorite pieces and reflect on their growing style. By the end of camp, kids will have a small portfolio of doodles and comics, improved drawing confidence, stronger visual storytelling skills, and more ease experimenting with line, shape, and color. No perfection required—creative play and supportive feedback guide every session.
