This hands-on writing course guides students through all stages of creating a short, polished story and publishing it online. Over 10 lessons, learners practice idea generation, genre choices, character development, and plotting using a clear plot structure. Sessions focus on showing versus telling, sensory detail, figurative language, and natural dialogue so stories feel alive. Students draft their stories, receive guided feedback, revise for clarity and voice, and perform final edits to strengthen pacing and theme. The course concludes with a step-by-step introduction to a child-friendly publishing website where each student prepares and uploads their finished story as a simple digital book. Instruction combines short, focused teaching, example texts and video prompts, group discussion, and guided writing exercises to build confidence and craft. Designed for ages 9 to 14 (grades 3 to 6), this course assumes basic English reading and writing and does not require prior publishing experience.
