Advanced Public Speaking: Speech Types, Impromptu & TED Talk Prep

This course focuses on advanced speaking skills and presentation techniques. Learners practice introduction, informational, storytelling, motivational, persuasive and impromptu speeches; build slide-supported presentations; prepare a TED-style talk; and plan a short recorded video presentation. Classes emphasize speech organization, vocal variety, reducing filler words, and constructive peer and teacher feedback.

SUGGESTED PRE-REQUISITE SKILLS:

• Participation in a public speaking class

• Acting or public speaking experience

• Speech writing skills

Students may enroll in my "Create an Awesome Speech Outline for a Presentation or Contest" class.

Materials needed:

• Speech outlines (provided to students before every speech assignment)

• Notebook or writing paper (optional)

• Pencil or pen
