Learners write open questions on reporter cards, practise follow-ups by interviewing the teacher, then capture a short audio interview with someone at home.

Kids learn to think like reporters, writing open-ended questions, listening closely and asking smart follow-ups, then capture a short audio interview with a family member in one lively 45-minute class.

Real reporters know that a good interview starts with good questions. In this class, learners explore the difference between yes-or-no questions and open questions that get people talking, and pick a fun interview theme such as a family member's favourite childhood game or best-ever day.
Learners write four or five questions on reporter cards, practise a friendly introduction, and warm up by interviewing the teacher together. They learn to listen for interesting answers and ask a follow-up. Then each learner records a one-to-two-minute audio interview with someone at home, or a solo reporter report, and shares a highlight.
This is a single 45-minute live class. The teacher demonstrates a short mock interview, then learners write questions, practise a reporter introduction and try out their questions on the teacher as a group. During quiet work time they capture their own interview, and the class ends with highlights and tips.
Tell the difference between yes-or-no and open questions
Write four or five interesting interview questions
Introduce themselves and their guest like a reporter
Listen carefully and ask a thoughtful follow-up question
Capture a short audio interview from start to finish
No experience needed. Learners should be able to write short questions, with spelling help available. They need a computer or tablet, a phone or computer voice recorder, index cards or paper, and ideally a family member to interview.
Learners write their interview questions on reporter cards and hold them on a clipboard or book, just like a real reporter.

No experience is needed. The class starts with what makes a good question and builds from there. Your child should be able to write short questions, and the teacher helps with spelling and ideas so every learner leaves with a strong set of reporter cards.
A free phone or computer voice recorder works well, alongside the computer or tablet used for class. Please make sure your child knows how to start and stop it. Index cards or paper and a pencil are also needed for writing questions.
Your child will have a set of handwritten interview questions and a one-to-two-minute audio interview saved on your own device, to share with family as you choose. They will also know how to ask open questions, listen closely and follow up, skills that help in school and everyday conversation.
That is fine. Learners practise by interviewing the teacher as a group, and anyone without a guest at home can do a solo reporter report instead, asking and answering their own questions about a topic they know well. They can interview a family member later using the same cards.
It is a single 45-minute live class with no further sessions. The class moves from a short demonstration to writing questions, practising follow-ups, capturing the interview during quiet work time and finally sharing highlights, so learners finish everything in one sitting.
No, the range is a flexible guide. A learner just outside it may fit well if they can write short questions with some help and work on a device for a few minutes on their own. A grown-up nearby during the interview part can also help a younger child.
You can cancel from the class in the parent dashboard. A class that has not yet started is refunded, while a class that has already started counts as used. Refunds go to store credit or the original payment method. If your child misses the class because of illness or an emergency, contact support, who review each case.
There is no homework and no certificate. All the writing and interviewing is completed during the live class. Many learners enjoy using their reporter cards to interview other relatives afterwards, but that is entirely optional.
