As a parent I thought the Halloween-themed units—bones, brains, nocturnal animals and plant chemistry—were imaginative and the safety-first use of household materials was reassuring. My only mild note: the materials list could be a touch clearer and I would have liked a little more time for the final group reflection. Still, the overall structure and the short at-home extension ideas made it worthwhile.

The themed weeks are fantastic (Light and Sound, Backyard Science, STEM Builders). Sessions combine story, guided exploration with household items, and a short hands-on challenge that reinforces sorting, predicting, and observing. Printable worksheets and the weekly materials list make participation easy.

As a parent, I liked that each class started with a short warm-up story or riddle and included a materials check before the demo. The guided activities—exploring nocturnal animals, testing senses, and investigating plants—were hands-on but used non-toxic, everyday items. The one-sentence takeaways and at-home ideas made it easy to reinforce the topics during the rest of the week.

Great mix of playful stories and simple experiments. The guided activities use common household materials, the printables are handy, and the short review games at the end help reinforce vocabulary and observation skills. We appreciated the NGSS/Key Stage 1–aligned pacing.
