Class Experience

This course is intended for trombonists with 1–2 years of experience who can read basic notation and have secure slide positions. Lessons examine natural, melodic and harmonic minor forms, compare major/minor function, and build etude and performance readiness through warm-ups, technical drills and individual coaching, ending with a virtual capstone concert.

Learning Outcomes

  • Improve trombone technical and performance skills

  • Apply and compare minor and major scale forms

  • Prepare intermediate etudes and repertoire for performance

Prerequisites

Materials needed:

🎒 Requirements

A functional Tenor Trombone (with slide oil/cream).

A music stand or place to set your music for viewing.

At least 1 year of trombone playing experience (must be able to read basic sheet music and know the 7 slide positions).

Class etude music samples and handouts.

A desire to make some serious noise!
