Roblox Science for Grade 4 and 5: NGSS Concepts Through Games

This 8-week live course uses custom Roblox experiences to bring Grade 4 and 5 NGSS science concepts to life. Each week students receive a short teacher-led introduction to the week’s concept, then play a purpose-built Roblox activity that turns the concept into an interactive challenge. Classes finish with guided discussion and reflection to link in-game observations back to real-world science. Learners encounter hands-on, visual demonstrations of energy and motion, states of matter, temperature effects, weathering and erosion, animal adaptations, magnetism, gravity across different planets, and natural hazards. Activities include exploring motion and collisions, reshaping landscapes with water, solving puzzles by switching matter states, testing magnet-based challenges, comparing gravity on different planets, and designing basic protective solutions for communities facing hazards. No prior coding or Roblox experience is required. All gameplay takes place in original, instructor-created Roblox worlds designed for safe, guided learning rather than public games. Roblox Studio must be installed to join these custom experiences; assistance to install is available. The course is best for learners ages 9 to 11 (Grades 4 and 5) who enjoy games and are curious about how science explains everyday phenomena. The format emphasizes observation, prediction, testing, discussion, and reflection to build lasting understanding beyond the screen.
