Learners in grades 3-5 build and code a multiplication challenge game in Roblox Studio. Over eight weeks they practice facts and use simple Lua to create random questions, scores and timers.

Paid once.
What better way to master multiplication than to build a game that tests it? In this eight-week course learners in grades 3 to 5 strengthen their multiplication skills while coding their own times-table challenge game in Roblox Studio.
Learners begin by reviewing multiplication strategies, including arrays, skip counting and breaking numbers apart. They then build a game arena with answer pads and a question board. Next they learn simple Lua to display a multiplication question on the board, starting with fixed questions and then using random numbers so every game is different. Learners code answer pads that check whether the player stepped on the right product and add points for correct answers.
In the middle weeks learners add a timer, a lives system and difficulty levels, from easy facts up to the tricky 7s, 8s and 9s. They explore multiplying by 10 and 100 and add a bonus round for two-digit by one-digit problems. Throughout, learners play their own games to practice and track how quickly they answer.
In the final weeks learners polish their games with sounds and a high score board and invite classmates to play. The teacher explains both the math and the code in clear steps.
By the end learners will be faster with multiplication facts and will have coded a working math game. No coding experience is required.
Each class mixes a multiplication strategy lesson with a coding step for the game. Learners test their games by playing them and record their progress.
Week 1: Strategies Review – Review arrays, skip counting and breaking apart.
Week 2: Game Arena – Build answer pads and a question board.
Week 3: Showing Questions – Display questions with Lua.
Week 4: Random Questions – Use random numbers for new questions.
Week 5: Checking Answers – Code answer pads and scoring.
Week 6: Timers and Lives – Add a timer and lives system.
Week 7: Difficulty and Bonus Round – Add levels and multiply by 10 and 100.
Week 8: High Score Showcase – Polish the game and invite classmates to play.
