Class Experience
This camp builds students' understanding of multiplication meaning, skip-counting strategies, memorization of multiplication facts up to the tens, and the relationship between multiplication and division. Lessons use songs, games and hands-on manipulatives to practice facts, with explicit connections between multiplication facts and division problem solving.
Learning Outcomes
Demonstrate understanding of the meaning of multiplication using manipulatives
Use skip-counting and mnemonic strategies to recall multiplication facts through the tens
Connect multiplication facts to division and solve basic division problems

Materials needed:
Learners will need a small snack such as cereal, Goldfish crackers, raisins or fruit snacks daily to make equal groups. Learners will also need either paper and pencil or whiteboard and marker each day.
