Introduction to Latin, Course V (Latin for Children Primer B Units III–V)

This course covers chapters 11–21 of Latin For Children—Primer B with the corresponding student reader Libellus de Historia. Instruction emphasizes vocabulary expansion, noun declensions (including third declension), verb conjugations (including irregular forms), translation of short passages and conversational Latin using classical pronunciation. Instructional materials are shared electronically and lessons include reviews and a final project.

Dr Wieland’s Introduction to Latin Courses I-IV or their equivalent first- and beginning-second-year middle school Latin course with another instructor.

Materials needed:

During the classes, students will need to have the following supplies on their workspace:

— Latin for Children - Primer B, 2nd edition (Larsen & Perrin, 2018)

— Libellus de Historia: Latin History Reader (Moore, 2005)

— Usborne Internet Linked Latin for Beginners (Wilkes, 2001)

— Bantam New College Latin and English Dictionary
