Introduction to Engineering: Simple Machines and Design Challenges

This course introduces students to the engineering design process and the six simple machines (pulley, screw, wheel and axle, inclined plane, lever, wedge). Each week covers a real-world topic—bridges, buildings, elevators, flight, boats, and windmills—and includes a guided design challenge to apply concepts through building and testing.
