This Level 2 chess course helps girls build tactical skill, strategic thinking, and confidence through guided instruction and interactive play. Across 10 sessions, students study key tactical motifs such as forks, pins, skewers, and double attacks, and practice standard checkmate patterns involving queen and rook coordination. Lessons emphasize piece development, board awareness, activity versus passivity, and safe trades while also covering draw rules and defensive techniques. Classes combine short demonstrations, practice puzzles, and supervised games so learners apply new ideas immediately. Cooperative activities and group matches encourage sportsmanship and teamwork; a final mini tournament lets students bring together opening principles, tactical awareness, and positional judgment. Instruction is supportive and geared to growing both skill and confidence, helping each player think more clearly and play more boldly on the board. Recommended for students who already know how pieces move and understand basic check and checkmate concepts. The course aligns with elementary grade levels and is designed to strengthen problem solving, focus, and competitive play in an all-girls learning environment.
