Class Experience

This course strengthens reading and performing of drumming patterns, compound meters, and rudiments using selections from the Keith Bartlett material and PAC rudiments. Students work on technique, counting, music-reading, and build a solo performance portfolio culminating in a virtual recital and guided feedback.

Learning Outcomes

  • Generate musical ideas within different beat groupings.

  • Read, write and perform using standard percussion notation.

  • Demonstrate rudiments such as flams, drags, rolls and related technique.

  • Prepare and present solo pieces for a performance portfolio.

Prerequisites

Drum Pad Skills Level 3 Ages 6-9

Send a maximum 1 minute video of your drumming skills to the teacher and we will recommend the best fit class.

Materials needed:

  1. Drum sticks

  2. Drum pad or something to drum on

  3. Pencil (ready to use)

  4. Printed or digital copy of the weeks' cadences for class discussion
