Draw and Color a Patterned Rainforest Bird

Through guided drawing steps, students create a bird outline with a branch and leaves, decorate it with patterns, and finish by outlining and coloring the bird and painting the background. The instructor works at student pace and invites sharing; learners may upload images of their work.

Materials needed:

Paper for practice--9X12

Heavier paper (80 lb, or watercolor or bristol board) 9X12 or similar size

pencils

colored pencils (my recommendation is Prismacolor or Crayola)

regular black Sharpie

Watercolor paint, water and brushes for background
