Recorder Rockstars: Level Two Ensemble and Repertoire

This level-two recorder course builds on beginner skills with ensemble rehearsals across multiple genres, expanded repertoire, rhythm and music-reading development, and performance preparation. Units introduce varied repertoire, optional alto recorder exploration, rehearsal strategies, and culminate in dress rehearsal and a virtual recital to showcase learned pieces.

Learners who join this class should have completed the semester-length 'Recorder Rookies' course or passed an equivalent audition (please message me for more information related to playing proficiency auditions)

Materials needed:

Learners will need access to a Baroque Soprano Recorder. If your learner is coming from the Recorder Rookies curriculum, their instrument from that course will suffice.

There are NO mandatory books for this course and all recorder repertoire will be provided by Miss Suzanne.

Additionally, some of the pieces that will be examined in this class feature optional alto recorder parts. If your child is interested in trying alto recorder during this course, please contact Miss Suzanne prior to the start of the class.
